BAUHAUS RESEARCH POSTER

The final for my History of Graphic Design course at Doane University was a research paper on a topic we learned about throughout the semester. The paper was to be presented in a poster format, where we were to emulate the style of design our topic portrayed. In addition, we were required to use the entirety of our paper in the design. The Bauhaus was known for teaching its students that form follows function, and the Bauhaus professors stressed finding solutions to problems by  “going back to the basics.” I chose to use geometric forms and a primary color palette to display the Bauhaus’s simple ideals. I incorporated the text of my paper into the shapes on my poster to provide texture to the shapes that would have otherwise been a solid color.
