Δ6 Casting Slip, Velvet Underglaze
This two-part mold was created using plaster and a rubber duck. The casting slip was made from scratch in three-gallon batches. This project taught me about the process of mold making and slip casting. Different molds require different waiting periods to achieve the desired thickness, so there is a significant amount of trial and error involved in this process. While learning about molds and slip casting, I created over 50 ducks. A portion of these ducks were then used as testers while learning about glaze chemistry.
