DINNER CUPS

SLIP CASTING

DINNER CUPS
2018
8”x3.5”
Δ6 Casting Slip, Glaze (Pinnel Seafoam)

This two-part mold was created using plaster, and highball glasses. The casting slip was made from scratch in three-gallon batches. This project taught me about the process of mold making and slip casting. Different molds require different waiting periods to achieve the desired thickness, so there is a significant amount of trial and error involved in this process. To create a cohesive project, I made a slab serving tray to match. These dinner cups are fully functional and dishwasher safe.
