GRAPHIC DESIGN III

2026 WINTER OLYMPICS GRAPHICS STANDARD MANUAL

The semester project for my Graphic Design III course was to create a complete design system for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Each student was randomly assigned a real bid city for a future Olympics, and was to research the city and country. The project required each student to design a logo, brand guide, posters, medals, torch and cauldron, pictograms for each sport, a mascot, and a logo in motion. Anything we did beyond that was up to our discretion.
At the end of the semester, each student presented their work to a mock “International Olympics Committee” of various faculty, staff members, and alumni from the graphic design program. We were to defend our design decisions and field any questions from the panel. In the end, a winner was chosen using criteria that included design system cohesiveness, project presentation, and the amount of effort put into the project. My designs for Innsbruck, Austria were selected as the winning city.
